Mid-Level Electrical Engineer
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to work in our Electrical Controls and Structural Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.
The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for applicants for an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide design and system engineering within a group reporting to the MFC Engineering Division.
Responsibilities Include:
INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel development and fabrication through post irradiated analysis.
The electrical engineer applies engineering knowledge, practice and techniques to solve applied and operational problems with facility electrical systems (including MCC equipment, motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives, communications, fire alarm systems and HVAC control systems used for research applications), and in R&D for Nuclear Programs, National and Homeland Security, and Energy and Environment. The senior electrical engineer also mentors junior staff and assists the department manager in assigning work assignments to others within the group. You will be asked to apply sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices in a broad array of assignments related to electrical systems. You will perform design of electrical equipment and systems, help develop and review potential electrical projects, and oversee engineering support during electrical project implementations.
Additionally for all tasks listed below the electrical engineer supports other staffs within the group performing these same functions.
