What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. During equipment operations in and out of the plant, take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others per Vulcan and OSHA/MSHA standards.

Operate Dump Trucks and Equipment. Operate dump truck to haul and transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and other materials. May operate equipment within the plant to load materials.

Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to Vulcan standards. Complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation accurately. Understand and handle Department of Transportation regulations, keeping all documentation up to date.

Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels and assisting in performing other minor maintenance. Report unsafe mechanical conditions to the supervisor.

Monitor Processes, Materials, and Surroundings. Monitor your surroundings when operating equipment in and out of the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments to ensure safety.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Previous experience operating dump trucks or heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Ready to Drive. Must possess a commercial driver's license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of the general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. Experience with the Department of Transportation rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment is also preferred.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
