Job Description

Please Note: The successful candidate for this role will be required to work at Sage'sEl Thousand Oaks, CA locations from one to three days per week and will occasionally need to travel to the El Segundo, CA location.

Overview:

As an Associate Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving network infrastructure, with a focus on both traditional and cloud-based networking. Your responsibilities will span across various areas, including firewall configuration, wireless network management, and Azure cloud networking. Below are the key duties and qualifications for this position:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to craft and deploy network architectures that integrate with private and public cloud environments.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Implement inter-VLAN routing and network segmentation.

Firewall Management:

  • Configure, test, install, fix, and maintain security devices such as firewalls.
  • Optimize firewall rules to ensure desired security posture.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents related to firewalls.

Wireless Networking:

  • Deploy and administer wireless access points (WAPs).
  • Address wireless network issues, including authentication.
  • Implement security measures for wireless networks

Azure Cloud Networking:

  • Work with Microsoft Azure to deploy and maintain network resources.
  • Set up virtual networks (VNets), subnets, security groups, and VPN connections in Azure.
  • Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions that bridge on-premises and Azure environments.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Prepare technical reports and bestow to strategic roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve network operations.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications (optional but useful):
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CCNP
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate1

Desired Skills:

  • Robust understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with routing and switching concepts.
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., stateful inspection, application-layer filtering).
  • Experience with wireless networking standards.

Compensation at Sage is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations. We anticipate the minimum full-time salary range for this position to be between $35.87/hour ($74,609.60/year) - $41.25/hour ($85,800.00/year).Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and additional aspects of the compensation/benefits package for this position during the hiring process.
