Overall Summary

As Global Product Manager, Joint Reconstruction, you will work in collaboration with marketing management as well as the Senior Leadership Team in order to drive sales, build brands, launch products and improve the over-arching product and approach portfolios. This role will strive to work collaboratively with the respective product development teams, global commercial teams, clinical, regulatory, quality, and research teams in order to ensure long-term growth goals.

You will oversee the development of the go-to-market strategies and initiatives to support MicroPort Orthopedics growth strategies across the US and OUS regions for both the product portfolio and approach driven initiatives. You must work closely with Sales and Functional Leadership to understand market trends, customer perspectives, competitor activities, and industry dynamics to develop strategic segment plans and tactics necessary to drive the business forward.

You must be able to identify unmet customer needs and new business opportunities and provide vision and focus to move products from an idea to commercialization. A high degree of initiative, discipline, leadership skills, urgency, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision making ability, and aptitude for personnel management are required.

Your duties will include:

  1. Assist in the upstream commercial assessment and lifecycle management for MicroPort Orthopedics' portfolio as well as downstream commercial execution of marketing tactics
  2. Partner with R&D and Sales Leadership to outline portfolio needs and develop the new product development pipeline, including managing/developing the business case for each new product development to grow all respective spaces.
  3. Collaborate and assure alignment with other functional areas including: R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Sales Leadership, and Medical/Sales Education.
  4. Prepare and execute detailed product commercialization plans including positioning, targeting, selling tactics and collaterals, clinical evidence, economic value proposition, forecasting, pricing, sales training, and medical education.
  5. Develop inputs for the marketing budget ensuring that expenses are in-line with approved amounts.
  6. Establish and maintain relationships with key clinicians and thought leaders in the industry.
  7. Work comprehensively with Medical Education to ensure that products are properly supported with educational events and programs.
  8. Provide leadership to the overall marketing team for the achievement of organizational objectives and strengthening of team talent and morale.

About You

The Product Manager must deal on a daily basis with abstract and conceptual problems. A high degree of initiative, interpersonal & communication skills, sense of urgency, and analytical skills are required. Expected to identify customer needs based upon routine field work, prior experiences, input from colleagues, and analysis of market trends and reports. This knowledge must be clearly reflected back into the business to guide key processes and priorities In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the Product Manager will assist the Sr. Marketing Manager & Director for Joint Reconstruction Marketing to formulate a yearly plan capturing the needs of the customers and the sales force * Excellent strategic planning and product management skills * Excellent communication (written and verbal), facilitation and organization skills * Ability to influence at all levels in an organization; excellent collaboration and negotiation skills * Excellent computer skills (specifically in EXCEL) * Excellent presentation skills (specifically in PowerPoint) * Travel required: 40%+

YOUR EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or a related field

Preferred: Master's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years of successful marketing and product management experience in the medical device industry

Previous Hip or Knee Reconstruction marketing experience preferred
