As the Medical Assistant III (MA3) your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to providing direct patient care within Radiology clinics and ensuring patient comfort and privacy during procedures. Technical tasks involve operating equipment such as the Hologic Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) machine to obtain accurate readings and archiving scans to Visage PACS. We expect that our MA3 performs quality assurance checks, assists in coordinating the patient flow and assists in outpatient care procedures. Flexibility is required to cover various clinic locations and shifts and the you must also participate in total patient care while recognizing and responding to abnormal signs and symptoms or emergencies.

Salary Range: $28.06 - $37.02 Hourly

Qualifications

  • * Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a secondary, post secondary or adult education program - Required
  • * At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant - required
  • * Hold current CA certification to perform bone densitometry or current enrollment in a CA limited permit certificate program for DEXA operator. Certificate must be acquired within 1 year of hire
  • * BLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
  • * Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and drug refills.
  • * Ability to perform sterile technique.
  • * Demonstrates competence in the preparation setup and scanning of all age groups
  • * Familiarity with EPIC (EHR/EMR system)
  • * Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomatology and life-threatening medical problems
  • * Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals with compassion
