Facilities Maintenance I - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of a Facilities Maintenance I is to repair and maintain physical structures, fixtures, grounds, machinery, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems, and all utilities in support of business operations. Directs the design, planning, construction and maintenance of an organization's facilities and properties.

Essential Functions:

May perform the general duties of a carpenter, painter, plumber, mason, truck and forklift operator with the supervision available when complex problems are encountered.

Plumbing: maintains and repairs faucets, sinks, drains, toilets, tubs, water heaters and water service and drain lines; unplugs drain systems; repairs leaks and installs washers; assists in the installation and remodeling of plumbing systems;

Office: Builds modular partitions and walls, repairs to hardware, repairs damaged wall surfaces; sands and refinishes wood surfaces; mix concrete;

HVAC: Maintains HVAC systems by changing filters and cleaning ductwork;

Work closely with other maintenance personnel;

Maintain necessary records. Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to proper supervisor. Move and store tools, materials, equipment and document files as directed. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition;

Perform utility duties to include, but not limited to general housekeeping including cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, mopping of oil - to ensure a clean and safe environment, hazardous waste handling, wash equipment service, machine and central coolant system service, rust collector system services and preventative maintenance services on machinery and equipment.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance experience in an aerospace or machining manufacturing environment or mechanical aptitude demonstrated through a minimum of 3 years of NHBB shop floor experience

Job Skills:

Familiarity with hand tools and basic power tools

Basic carpentry

Basic plumbing skills

Experience working with concrete

Basic painting skills

Abilities:

Mechanical aptitude

Follow the direction of department manager, department Team Lead, and Senior Facilities Maintenance staff.

Work unsupervised in a safe and efficient manner

Pay Range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr DOE

Other Requirements:
Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
