Resin Controller- 2nd shift, 12-hour shift. 5pm to 5amAt TC Transcontinental, we've got it made, and that's because of the expertise of our team.We are currently seeking a Resin Controller to join our team at the Ontario, California Plant. Essential to TC Transcontinental Packaging operations, the Extruder Helper supports a variety of tasks within the Extrusion Department. This entry level position is a part of a line of progression which requires employees to move into higher skill level positions based on seniority. When your actions lead to success
  • Ability to be flexible in daily work assignment and work rotating 12-hour shifts.
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations,
  • Responsible for supporting the production of quality products while maintaining production performance.
  • Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated personal protective equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ensures that the presses have all supplies needed to perform change over for next job.
  • Assists in preparing press and all job components for print job (loading specified anilox, sleeves, ink, film, etc.)
  • Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility/corporate standards.
  • Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.
  • Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
  • Responsible for keeping anilox clean at all times.
  • Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Responsible for managing and handling hazardous waste.
  • Maintain an understanding of the materials used in production and their specific differences.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude that reflects the company's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member.
  • Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met.
  • Maintains all aspects of housekeeping according to plant policies and procedures.
  • Provides feedback to the shift lead and supervisor on equipment or production issues.
  • Provides support to Production, Quality, and Maintenance to increase machine uptime, productivity, and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the work center.
  • Takes all necessary actions to manage production costs and improve profitability.
  • Enforces all plant and department safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly safety requirements BOP's.
  • Conduct required quality checks - Blend Checks, First articles, and hourly checks.
  • Participate and drive on continuous improvement activities.
  • Sets-up blenders, hoppers, etc. to specifications outlined on the order. (See detail Material Handler Responsibilities list).
  • Trouble shoots equipment when it is down or not performing to standard.
  • Stages product in an efficient manner to sustain manufacturing and to maintain production schedules issued to Manufacturing.
  • Maintains accurate and timely Data Entry pertaining to resin, according to each individual line and work order specs.
  • Coordinates and cooperates with oncoming shifts to ensure limited disruption of production.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

  • This job is in a manufacturing environment working on and around heavy machinery with high-speed rotating parts; continuous strobe lights may be present. Must have the ability to operate industrial power vehicles.
  • Manufacturing experience is required and experience in flexible packaging industry preferred, extrusion or lamination processes is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and able to distinguish colors.
  • Comfortable working with computers and using a ruler/measuring tape.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, walking/standing for extended periods of time
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision and handle a wide variety of responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Consistently at work and on time
  • Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram forms.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing requirements.
