As our Planner, you will be in charge of ensuring that all materials and goods required for production go into the right place exactly when they should. You will work closely with managers and engineers to ensure everything runs smoothly without any hiccups along the way.


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • High School or GED required
  • Associates Degree in a manufacturing or engineering-related field
  • 5+ years of scheduling, planning, and/or inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment involving machining or similar processes
  • Prior ERP/MRP experience
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Previous Sales-Inventory-Operations-Planning SIOP (S&OP) methodology knowledge a plus
  • Working knowledge of A. P. I. C. S., Lean Manufacturing, J.I.T., Operations highly desirable
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and follow-up skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written

What will you be Accountable for?


  • Communicates cross-functionally by facilitating, leading, and participating with support departments to continually improve the cycle time required to identify, resolve, and prevent reoccurrence of manufacturing and customer issues
  • Analyzes, measures, and develops processes to improve quality, service, and productivity outputs to meet value-added goals and key, and success factors
  • Reviews sales forecasts and demands for finished or intermediary goods and develops production schedules, considering inventory, labor availability, and production lead times.
  • Adjusts production schedules as needed and in response to changes in demand, materials, or other resources.
  • Coordinates with the purchasing function to ensure availability of raw materials
  • Monitors materials and backlog between work centers; ensure availability and handles changing priorities
  • Maintains production status updates; coordinates with project coordinators and materials personnel to ensure progress against production plans
  • Reviews master production requirements and manpower and capacity restraints with manufacturing leaders
  • Provides engineering drawing assistance to help maintain current production drawings when applicable

  • Works closely with purchasing, and engineering departments to maintain schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures
  • Set a strategy within your team to achieve or exceed the desired results
  • Review production methods, workstations, practices, and procedures to improve the department's efficiency
  • Define, select, and allocate resources (people, materials and machinery) to meet objectives
  • Lead and promote Continuous Improvement events and activities
  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide/propose required training to improve performance
  • Define, modify, or improve product flow to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Focuses on driving Safety, quality, and productivity
