TMC, a LinQuest company is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to join our team at our office in Orlando, Florida. The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.

Description:

The Staff Network Engineer assists in performing engineering services to enable all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and sustainment of existing networks, as well as analyze design, specifications, and related documents to develop network topology designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in writing and editing technical materials (e.g., user manuals, reports, documents and deliverables).
  • Assist project teams in collecting and organizing information.
  • Assist in reviewing work and resolves discrepancies according to strict standards and guidelines.
  • Solve, design and develop new Information Technology (IT) requirements, prepares specifications for IT equipment acquisitions and modifies IT hardware and/or software as necessary to meet specialized user needs.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess and document current site IT/network configuration and user requirements.
  • Assist in development of Risk Management Framework documentation and assists in maintaining the Authorization to Operate for information systems and applications.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports.
  • Assist in coordinating installation operations and maintenance support. This may include the application of multiple engineering disciplines to IT and business modeling, analyses, specification development, hardware and software planning/implementation/modification/coding, scheduling, configuration changes, and test reports for information systems, messaging and telecommunications systems.
  • Evaluate existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes
  • Participate in the Design, install and configure servers, network devices and firewalls.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix (RTVM)
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) development and updates.
  • Maintain proficiency in all required certifications.
  • Abide by company policies, procedures, and AS9100 quality policy
  • Ensure systems compliance to industry and applicable DoD requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in assisting with designing, implementing and/or administering information systems and/or networks.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree of Computer Science or a related science in engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance. Prefer an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to achieve SCI
  • Working experience with the Microsoft Office products, (i.e. Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • DODAF modeling knowledge
  • Network Topology modeling preferred
  • SolarWinds Network monitoring application experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven strong analytical/trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in resolving issues with complex systems.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing technical information to users in a non-technical manner.
  • Must have and maintain an appropriate DoDI 8570.01-M (Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program) certification for the appointed duty level.
  • Possess a valid drivers license

Preferred:

  • Possess CCNP Enterprise / CCNP Data Center / CCNP Security
