We are seeking an experienced Senior Coordinator, Collections to join our team. This is a hybrid position and will be based in our Santa Clarita, CA office. In this role you'll support the cash operations supervisor in overseeing the chargeback and collection efforts. You'll assist the supervisor with assigning workload to other members of the team and troubleshooting improvements to collection and chargeback processes. In addition, you'll continuously engages other members of the staff in their training and development. This role requires exceptional communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of the various systems used by Cash Operations in the collection environment. You should have a good understanding of how to safeguard assets and customer data, and accounting knowledge to support journal entries and GL account handling within financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and backs up the collections supervisor in managing day to day workload and assignments of the team to ensure all chargeback and billings are processed efficiently and effectively within required timeframes to maximize collection efforts.
  • Continuously coaches team members to enable them to respond to chargebacks timely and reviews the backup being submitted to the credit card companies in response to the chargebacks. Provides constructive feedback, ensures a positive work environment, and recognizes individual contributions. Provides performance evaluations input to supervisor.
  • Responsible for researching and clearing reconciling items relevant to this area of operation timely to maintain compliance for GAAP. Duties include making adjustment to bookings in Polar and journal entry preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in performing these tasks.
  • Assist and act as backup to Supervisor for administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Three years of accounting/finance experience with emphasis on collections and chargebacks. Ability to independently prepare journal entries and a high-level understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and multi-task in a fast-pace, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Proven data entry experience with attention to detail.
  • Good analytical skills with intermediate Excel.
  • Oracle and POLAR experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to manage workflow and promote teamwork.
  • Respect both similarities and differences in the workplace.

This is a hybrid role, based in our Santa Clarita, CA office. Candidates must be driving distance and comfortable going into the office 3 days per week.

  • Base Hourly Range: $19.04-$25.72. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base pay is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
