Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Fieldwork including soil, surface water, wastewater, groundwater, indoor air, and soil vapor sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Compile, review, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental contamination and/or water quality. Identify characteristics or trends, draw logical conclusions, and assist in the preparation of technical engineering or other reports;
  • Assist with water/wastewater process engineering design calculations;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Groundwater, soil, and soil gas remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis/visualization of site investigation data, including preparing tables, maps, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in the same. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media, wastewater treatment, or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting or wastewater treatment. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible or salaried eligible for straight-time overtime. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $64,480 /yearly / Maximum: $88,280/yearly or Minimum: $27.45/hourly / Maximum: $31.00/hourly (Costa Mesa)
