Job Description

Pay Rate: $130,200 - $178,970 depending on background and experience. This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.

As the Director of Asset Protection, you will develop, implement, and oversee strategies and programs aimed at safeguarding the company's assets, minimizing losses, and ensuring a secure and safe environment across all channels. You will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to create a comprehensive asset protection framework.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the overall asset protection strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the asset protection team, fostering a culture of proactive impact, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Loss Prevention:

  • Implement and manage loss prevention programs, from a corporate and retail perspective, to prevent theft, fraud, and other operational losses.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in loss prevention processes.

Team Management:

  • People leader of a high-performing asset protection team.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture, encouraging open communication and professional development.

Training and Education:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on best practices for asset protection and loss prevention.
  • Promote awareness of security measures and ensure a strong security culture across the organization.

Investigations:

  • Lead and oversee internal investigations into suspected theft, fraud, or other violations.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations and proactively collaborate with legal authorities when necessary.

Technology Integration:

  • Leverage technology solutions such as surveillance systems, electronic article surveillance, and data analytics to enhance asset protection efforts.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology to recommend and implement relevant innovations.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to asset protection.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation and adjust policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


To join our band you'll need the following experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, criminal justice, or a related field; or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, with 8-10 years of experience in progressive Asset Protection, ideally in hard goods-based retail organizations.
  • A deep and demonstrated track record of effectively responding to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Progressive program development experience and a demonstrated track record with reducing organizational shrinkage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams.
