Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a globally known energy consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote electrification, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.

TRC is seeking an Electrification Public Relations and Education Project Manager to spearhead relationship building, market education, and public relations, and support outreach and overall promotion of our California Residential New Construction electrification portfolio. This individual will be engaging with traditional stakeholders (such as residential builders, developers, architects, housing authorities, local government, manufacturers) as well as outside-of-the-box market partners to foster synergy for participation in our electrification portfolio. They will also be responsible for educating the marketing and training our market partners to strategically spread awareness about the benefits of electrifications and our programs for each entity in the supply chain down to the participant. This individual will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring ongoing public relations and education strategies. They will work closely with and supply industry insight and market feedback for the outreach and marketing teams within the portfolio to provide strategic subject matter expertise. They will also collaborate with other internal cross-functional teams such as operations, technical, IT, program management and other support staff to promote the participation of the electrification portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running with proficient technical electrification knowledge and strong relevant relationships with industry stakeholders. They will have a personable and approachable demeanor to continue building and nurturing relationships that will help promote program participation within the electrification portfolio. The ideal candidate will display a track record of successful strategic public relations or outreach planning and implementation, with out-of-the-box innovative ideas for execution, showing a mastery of understanding the market and pivoting to optimize opportunities and avoid unnecessary risks. They will be able to identify and understand the gaps of knowledge within the market to provide the team feedback for training and educational materials. The ideal candidate is passionate for the sustainability and energy industry, and is creative about exploring solutions that will enhance the awareness of and participation in our electrification portfolio. They will represent our electrification portfolio and TRC with a professional and industry leading presence.

The position will be located at one of TRC's California offices: Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, or Rancho Cordova (Sacramento). Hybrid working is currently in effect. The majority of time may be remote, but staff are encouraged to meet in local offices when appropriate and to foster team collaboration.


Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, such as residential builders, developers, architects, housing authorities, local government, manufacturers to promote program participation.
  • Research, plan and execute strategic public relations initiatives for multiple programs within the electrification portfolio.
  • Identify additional stakeholders in the supply chain that can find synergy with residential new construction electrification portfolio.
  • Develop tailored educational materials to promote the benefit and importance of electrification.
  • Provide final review on marketing materials, templates, outreach scripts, and other deliverables to support outreach and marketing efforts before they are delivered to program management.
  • Identify and attend community events, tradeshows, and other industry conferences to represent and promote the electrification portfolio.
  • Work with management to establish budget for public relations and education and plan calendar of events and initiatives accordingly.
  • Work with program management to understand client priorities and then inform marketing and outreach strategies that align with the program's goals or client needs.
  • Regularly consult and advise marketing and outreach teams to ensure alignment of promotional and customer acquisition efforts across portfolio. Provide insight from market partners to inform outreach strategy initiatives and marketing activities through completion.
  • Use proprietary customer relationship management system (CRM) to analyze data trends and tailor strategic public relations or education initiatives to relevant audience.
  • Develop and delivering professional presentations to program management, key market partners, and participants, including but not limited to education, training, and event presentations.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple team members, customers, and stakeholders; in addition to leading and inspiring outreach and marketing staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 4 years of transferrable professional experience OR 8 years of transferrable professional experience in the energy, building, manufacturing, legislative or related sector.
  • 2+ years of experience managing similar project/program types (residential, new construction, energy efficiency, electrification, etc.).
  • Experience developing and executing strategic public relations or education initiatives from planning to completion.
  • Experience working on multiple high profile fast paced projects in parallel, completing projects on time and in budget.
  • Experience with customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute joint goals.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems or other project tracking tools.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's Licenses (must be obtained prior to employment). Access to a vehicle. Ability to travel up to 30% within California to promote electrification portfolio with stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of residential new construction electrification and the key players involved.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders in the industry, such as residential builders, developers, architects, housing authorities, local government, manufacturers.
  • Experience with utility incentive programs.
  • Experience leading community outreach, tradeshows, or other promotional events.
  • Deployment of innovative outreach, public relations, or education strategy to effectively achieve or exceed team goals.
  • Well spoken, expert communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to identify key audience and tailor specific presentations to appeal to their motivators.
  • Self-driven and a team player with established critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills that include highly effective communication in-person, over email, and over the phone.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with key stakeholders in the market and internal portfolio team members.
  • Ability read and monitor performance metrics to support program goals.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $100,000 - $120,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 /Yr.
