• Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled AS400 Administrator to join our team and manage our AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems efficiently. As an AS400 Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of our AS400 environment. Your duties will include system configuration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, user management, and implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures. Additionally, you will collaborate with other IT teams to integrate AS400 systems with other platforms and applications.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer AS400 systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Configure and maintain AS400 hardware and software components, including operating system upgrades and patches.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, such as system errors, bottlenecks, and performance degradation.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls according to security policies.
• Coordinate with other IT teams to integrate AS400 systems with other platforms and applications.
• Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and other IT staff.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to AS400 administration.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies outside of regular business hours, if necessary.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an AS400 Administrator or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) architecture, operating systems (OS/400), and related technologies.
• Experience with system administration tasks such as system configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with AS400 security concepts, including user management, authentication, and access controls.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions for AS400 systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i) are a plus.

Pay Rate: $62,000 - 90,000 /yr depending on background and experience.
