TRC is seeking a highly motivated Roadway Engineer for our growing transportation practice in California, although alternate locations will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the roadways design on Caltrans projects (structures design experience is a plus), be a team player, and be enthusiastic in working with other engineers, project managers, and other technical staff assisting with planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects, such as the design of roadways.

• Assisting with Design and construction support of transportation projects such as Roadways, Highways, and Freeways
• Support the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates (PS&E).
• Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction and work independently.
• Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
• Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff job tasks.
• Ability to provide QA/QC on road design projects.
• Ability to assist in marketing efforts to pursue future work.

• BS degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5-15 years of roadway, highway, and drainage design experience.
• Professional Engineer License in California is a plus
• Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents including InRoads and OpenRoads and Mircrostation.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible, well organized, accountable and dependable.
