PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES – other duties may be assigned
  1.  Expertise in Material Preparation: Demonstrate mastery in mixing water-based primers and epoxy/polyurethane topcoats, tailoring the mix to meet the exacting standards required for aerospace components. This requires a deep understanding of the properties of each material to ensure optimal application and durability.
  2. Process Documentation and Certification: Meticulously prepare certification sheets for specific processes, showcasing your attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance. This documentation is critical in validating the integrity of our painting processes and ensuring adherence to Nadcap and other industry standards.
  3. Precision Application Techniques: Employ advanced application techniques using a gravity feed air spray gun while wearing a respirator, applying coatings to products within a spray booth as dictated by work orders and engineering drawings. This duty demands a high level of precision, and an understanding of how different coatings interact with aerospace materials.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on spray booths and spray guns, ensuring equipment is in optimal condition for high-quality applications. This responsibility underlines the importance of maintaining a clean and efficient work environment to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  5. Oven Operation and Monitoring: Manage the operation of ovens as needed, maintaining accurate oven temperature charts. This involves understanding the curing process and how it affects the performance of the applied coatings, ensuring that components meet the required specifications for durability and performance.
  6. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Rigorously adhere to all safety regulations, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This includes following sustainable practices in handling and disposing of paint materials and waste, highlighting your role in environmental stewardship.
  7. Adaptability and Continuous Improvement: Embrace a wide range of duties as assigned, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks. Your role is pivotal in contributing to ongoing efforts to innovate and improve painting processes, showcasing your dedication to professional growth and excellence in aerospace painting.

 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. Essential Educational Qualification: Possession of a High School diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a foundational level of education necessary for understanding technical instructions and safety guidelines related to aerospace painting operations.
  2. Preferred Professional Experience: While previous painting experience in the aerospace industry is highly preferred, candidates with experience in the automotive industry are also encouraged to apply. This experience should showcase a candidate's proficiency in applying coatings and understanding the intricacies of paint application in high-precision environments. However, motivated individuals with a keen interest in aerospace and a willingness to undergo training will also be considered.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: To comply with U.S. export control regulations, it is essential for the applicant to be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government. This requirement ensures adherence to legal and regulatory standards governing the aerospace industry.
  4. Language Proficiency: The candidate must be proficient in both spoken and written English. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication within the team, understanding work orders and engineering drawings, and maintaining accurate process documentation.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1.  Proficiency with Gravity Spray Gun: Candidates should possess experience in using and troubleshooting gravity spray guns. This skill is essential for ensuring the precise application of coatings and for maintaining the equipment's optimal performance.
  2. Documentation Skills: The ability to document required information accurately and clearly on paint certification sheets is crucial. This competence demonstrates attention to detail and ensures compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Communication Proficiency: Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are required. Candidates must be able to engage constructively with team members, facilitating clear and efficient exchange of information and fostering a collaborative work environment.
