Positions in this function are responsible for all statistical tasks with a high level of independence e.g. design/planning, analysis plan, reporting activities including exploratory analyses. Works with the Data Management function to assist in developing programs that are clinical in nature. - Develops innovative approaches.- Sought out as expert.- Serves as a leader/ mentor.- Works with less structured, more complex issues.
We are looking for an experienced professional with strong biostatistical skills who will provide statistical modeling and data analysis to join our biostatistics team at Irvine. This position assumes overall responsibility for the successful execution of assigned projects.
The Biostatistician 2 will aid researchers by analyzing high volumes of data as well as focus on the following:
  • Provide statistical analyses/consultation for researchers/clinicians investigating clinical safety of therapeutics, conducting pharmacoeconomic analyses, or evaluating the effectiveness of clinical programs
  • Maintain and improve existing statistical support programs
  • Build statistical models (propensity, Cox hazards, logistic, survival), Return on Investment (ROI) models, predictive models, etc.
  • Provide biostatistical reports that meet scientific standards for analyses, providing cogent statistical methodology and rationale for each report.
Positions in this function are responsible for the biostatistics used during clinical trials, working with the Data Management function to assist in developing programs that are clinical in nature. Generally such work is self-directed and not prescribed, involving less structured, more complex issues.

Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Applied Statistics or Biostatistics strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in statistics in a professional environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in SAS and SQL programming
  • Ability to perform complex statistical analyses of large amounts data and interpret results of data analyses to ensure validity of conclusions
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Computer proficiency required (MS Office)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to details
