University Advancement's USC Alumni Association is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and enterprising professional for the position of Associate Director of the Asian Pacific Alumni Association.
The Associate Director of the Asian Pacific Alumni Association is responsible for engaging USC alumni and collaborating with university partners through a variety of alumni engagement events and initiatives. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director of the Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) and works closely with the APAA staff and collaborates with various campus partners. The Associate Director oversees Signature Events (Annual APAA Scholarship and Award Gala, USC Asian Pacific Film Fest and APAA Golf Classic), the APAA Orange County Committee, finances, supports the APAA Board of Directors and regional programing. The engagement of alumni through volunteer and board management, constituent events and programs is vital to the success of APAA. The job requires regular evening and weekend work and may include occasional travel.
The Associate Director of Asian Pacific Alumni Association must be innovative, independently creative, able to produce, manage, and support APAA programs and events, and flawlessly execute them. Additionally, this person must have experience managing volunteer boards.
Related skills include: communications, budgeting, marketing, event production and program development and management.
Works collaboratively with board members on strategies to engage their respective demographics in alumni programming and involvement.
Produces a wide variety of programs to engage alumni and build awareness of the APAA, through career and professional development, educational, cultural, virtual and social events and is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned programs.
Contributes to the development of department's operating budget(s). Manages program, project and/or event budget(s).
Develops and produces reports of alumni participation and engagement activities for university and/or department use.
Represents University or department at professional meetings, conferences, seminars and other events. Develops and maintains contacts with University officials, media representatives, community leaders and professional colleagues. Maintains partnerships with professional/community organizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree in related field, preferred
Preferred Field of Expertise:
Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience and professional expertise:
Working with and managing volunteers and/or volunteer groups.
Planning events that range from 50 to 500 people.
