Job Title: Energy Management Control System (EMCS) Technician - JPL

Job Summary:

EMCOR Government Services has a need for an Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) Technician at the JPL facility in Pasadena, CA. The project is approx. 3 million SF with more than 200 buildings on campus. The EMCS Technician has experience and performs troubleshooting and repairs of the Energy Management Control System.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs day-to-day troubleshooting and correction of Energy Management Control System (EMCS) and or Building Management Systems (BMS) related trouble calls and alarms.
  • Assist the HVAC craft with troubleshooting and solving HVAC/Mechanical issues utilizing EMCS.
  • Maintains effective communications with team and customers.
  • Analyze and act promptly in cases of system disturbance so that the system can be restored to a normal configuration.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on the JPL EMCS.
  • Identify and report deficiencies or anomalies noted within the EMCS system.
  • Runs EMCS reports when requested and makes system configurations when requested.
  • Responsible for the completion of all PM and record keeping assigned to his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Prepares and sends out 1st shift report.
  • Performs maintenance on assigned utility cart.
  • Work with the MRO group to specify, provide vendor quotes, and information for ordering material.

Qualifications:

    • NASA LOC 50 Clearance needed
    • Experience with monitoring and responding to BMS and or EMCS alarms.
    • Must possess knowledge of, or ability to learn electrical and mechanical systems operation, maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools to operate and maintain the systems.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience with Tridium - Niagara N4, and Distech 6001 0r 6002.
    • Must have knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to their field (CMMS, Microsoft applications and email).
    • Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders and work at various heights.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
    • Ability to read and write in the English Language.
    • Valid CA driver's license.
    • Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, pay attention to detail, be dependable, and be a team player.
    • Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned to meet customer critical missions.
    • Provide own basic hand tools.
