We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team of Electrical Engineers. Electrical equipment upgrades, low and medium voltage plant power distribution system design, switchgears, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, control schematic diagrams, power system and arc flash hazards analysis are services in high demand from our clients. Detailed Description:

For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity for significant professional growth and the potential to collaborate with local and national teams. In this role, your responsibilities will include electrical design, including one-line diagrams, layouts, controls schematic diagrams, lighting, grounding, schedules, equipment specification, development of contract drawings and bid packages using 2D and 3D design approaches, field investigations, and support services during construction both in the office and the field. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for building things, meeting new people, and desire to work with seasoned professionals who perform industrial, municipal, and other water/wastewater related work. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Execute electrical design assignments on time and on budget and of high-quality using company systems and tools.
  • Execute electrical power systems design and specification development, which include service entrance, feeder and branch circuits, lighting, grounding, power distribution and standby power equipment, and associated power distribution components.
  • Develop control schematic diagrams for motor control and process equipment based on P&IDs, control strategies, and equipment specification requirements.
  • Develop power and control layout drawings and cable & conduit schedules.
  • Perform field investigations for electrical data gathering to support engineering design and construction support activities.
  • Review contractor construction submittals and request for information documents and prepare design change packages.
  • Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Collaborate with a local, regional, and national team of technical experts in the EPAS group.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer. PE certification required.
  • Experience in electrical power systems design and specification, which include service entrance, feeder and branch circuits, lighting, grounding, power distribution and standby power equipment, and associated electrical calculations required.
  • Experience in power system analysis and modeling software such as SKM and ETAP strongly desired.
  • Experience in CAD and Revit is strongly desired.
  • Experience in motor controls and process equipment control schematics based on P&IDs and process control strategies is required.
  • Knowledge in the application of the National Electrical Code is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical safety systems, NFPA 70E required.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Comfortable and effective with clients and contractors as direct interface.
  • Able to multi-task, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and work independently with a willingness to learn.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight and pressured deadlines.
