Job Description
Overview

The VP of Treasury & Tax is a highly visible role across the organization. In this newly created role, you will provide critical enterprise-wide leadership and drive our global tax & treasury strategy including tax provision, tax planning, tax compliance, management of cash, investments, and debt program and work closely with the company's accounting and finance teams to support the overall financial objectives of the organization. You will play a key role in cross functional initiatives and manage and lead the global team.

This is a hybrid role and will require 2-3 days in the office in either NJ or PA


Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead tax & treasury strategy, assessing the impact of strategic initiatives, and driving decision-making that improves shareholder value
  • Partner with external service providers to drive reporting to investors and internal stakeholders
  • Provide active support/advising leadership in strategic decision-making, due diligence, mergers/acquisitions, restructuring, etc. to ensure business planning accounts for relevant tax considerations
  • Maintain key banking and lending relationships, and monitor liquidity, operating cash reserves, and short-term investments.
  • Maintain relationships with credit rating agencies
  • Expertise in capital markets and transactions
  • Lead strategy and execution of capital structure and capital allocation
  • Working in collaboration with the Accounting team, manage cash position and develop robust cash forecasts.
  • Evaluate financing options and lead debt issuance transaction planning efforts and transaction execution.
  • Develop and implement post-issuance debt compliance program, including compliance with borrowing guidelines, disclosure, tax, and debt covenants.
  • Supports the periodic rating agencies reporting process and credit review process.
  • Continue to develop and implement transfer pricing strategy, monitor transfer pricing policies and related documentation
  • Manage worldwide GAAP tax provision, tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and related disclosures. Lead compliance (US Federal, US States and International), accounting for income taxes, technical research, process improvement, and risk and controls
  • Review, analyze and maintain support for valuation allowances and stock compensation impacts of global employees
  • Ensure compliance with US and international tax laws and regulations, US GAAP, SOX, and other domestic and international requirements
  • Actively partner with foreign operations on local tax matters (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.)
  • Manage indirect tax compliance and risks, advise on employment tax
  • Manage global tax & treasury audits
  • Build close partnerships with key stakeholders, including executive management, financial reporting, accounting, legal, HR and business operations

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience with experience leading a corporate Treasury function within a publicly traded company and, ideally, the tax function
  • Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus
  • Effective communications skills, including the ability to synthesize complex treasury and tax issues and to communicate them in a clear and succinct manner to non technical executive audience
  • Experience with tax accounting for valuation allowances, treatment of stock compensation, international tax structure and cost sharing structures
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; and
  • Ability to quickly understand and integrate business objectives with treasury and tax strategies
  • Effectively communicate treasury and tax strategy and vision to executive leadership
