Job Title: Power Shear/Brake Operator
Location: Mira Loma, California
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly
POSITION OVERVIEW
Tends power shear that cuts sheets of metal to specified dimension for product by performing the
following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adjusts stops on machine to regulate size of cut according to order information contained on the cut
sheet.
Positions and aligns sheets against stops.
Presses foot switch or treddle to activate shear blade through sheet.
Stages sheared material on tables for next fabricating operation.
Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed.
Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
Turns adjustment screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of
metal.
Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.
Positions workpiece to align layout marks or to backstop.
Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends metal.
Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple
operations.
Verifies dimensions of workpiece.
Other duties may be assigned.
